This week we have seen blue marlin spearfish and tuna. Our most important day was July 4th, the blue marlin world cup. That day we raised 3 fish caught 1 and saw another 2 feeding.Unfortunatley none of them were big enough to win ! Today a friend of mine caught a fish around 900lb so things might be changing as we have had a lot of small fish lately. we have new guys starting on monday and we are bait and switching all week, so stayed tuned!

We also saw the tuna again....we didn't go out the next day as we had to do some routine maintanence on thye engines. The following days the guys wanted to try bait and switch. over the next few days we caught one and lost another. We raised 4 others but didn't manage to get the bite on the bait. On the last day we saw a total of 5 fish feeding but only raised 1. We start again on monday with some new clients fishing with lures.

Week 29, July 14-20:
This week we have had graham, Paul and their dad, del-boy, fishing with us. The first day out we caught Graham his first blue marlin, the 2nd day we caught delboy his first blue marlin which was around 500lb, not bad for a 75 year old !! He done really well and beat the fish in 20 minutes. well done delboy once again !! The 3rd day we got Paul his first blue marlin as well. The 4th day we blanked but saw lots of tuna but didn't get a bite. The last day we hooked into a monster fish which nearly spooled us on its first run. after fighting it hard for 2 hrs she took a fast and long run straight down and died. we tried to plane her up and was doing well until the dacron popped at the rod tip and the fish was lost. proabably a fish of a lifetime. clearly over the 1000lb mark. The same day 2 other fish of over 800lb were released and another fish of 1056lb landed. not weighed but measured. It seems some big fish are coming through. we are fishing this week, so lets see what happens. Will still have some days free the following week if anybody wants the big one.....

Week 30, July 21-27:
This week we had Andre fishing from Holland. The fishing was very slow for everyone, We didn't see a fish for 3 days. The 4th day we raised a small fish which faded rel quick. the 5 day we hooked a nice fish but pulled the hooks on her, later on we had a fish around 250kg which jumped us off after 10 minutes and later on we had a knock down but nobody saw the fish. The following and last day we had a fish around 300kg come in on the teaser which we switched to the short left and she piled on that only to strip 50m of line off. She did come back in and hit the right long and again didn't stick....bad luck... Then later in the day we had a fish which piled on the long right which DID stick and we released a 220kg fish about 15 minutes later. A couple of days off now and back out again...

Week 31, July 28-Aug. 3:
Well after a couple of days off and a day of work on the boat we headed back out to see with two young anglers and their father. It was williams last try at his small fry world record, as he is only ten.Harry is eleven so is now a junior angler. Anyway we fished all day and saw nothing, The sea was quite choppy which was un usual and i think effected the fishing. But the next day was a different story. we saw lots of yellowfin skip jack and whales we also saw spearfish and of course blue marlin. Our first fish came up and hit the lure only to take 10 meters and dissapear. the 2nd fish William managed to get the rod to the chair but again we lost the fish. The 3rd fish ate Black Barts RPP and stuck and William done a fantastic job in the chair, sometimes applying upto 35 pounds of drag !! An hour and 15 minutes later and some great skill from our yong angler, we had boated his fish and were on the way back home to put her on the scales. we had to beat 440lb, The fish weighed 498lb, a pending new world record !! If we had stayed out I'm sure we would have had a lot more fish, the other boats also had a lot of fish that day. Yesterday we didn't go out but 3 private boats did, catching a total of 11 fish out of 20+ bites. Today we aren't out but the boats have reported lots of blue marlin. We are out again tomorrow and tuesday. We have still got days free from the 11th of august. There are more blue marlin here now then all season. Each boat catching at least 3 fish each a day !!! Please contact us now for prices.

Week 32, Aug. 3-10:
Yesterday we had 2 blue marlin out of 3. Both nice fish. We saw big yellow fins and albacore and absolutely heaps of skipjacks, baitballs and whales. Today was even better, we were the only boat fishing and our first action of the day was a triple header of blue marlin all over 600lb !! BUT....Not on eof them stayed on the hook ! Next we saw giant yellowfin of way over 100kg. Then we saw loads of albacore tuna nd decided to catch one for dinner. Our small lure didn't last long in the water and we pulled in a fish of around 15kg. the rest of the day was all go, to much to put into words....baitballs with blue marlin on them, all types of tuna, whales etc you name it we saw it. we had two double headers of blue marlin and eventually went 5 for 11 and saw a total of 18 blues.NO SMALL FISH, The biggest was around 750lb but were all mainly 600's. We were really unlucky on 3 of our fish and pulled the hooks real close to the boat or they jumped us off just before touching the leader. But thats fishing. no one really cared as there ws so much action. I have to go to England tomorrow for some personal matters but will be back out there on Sunday. The fish will still be here as there is just so much bait. Any one interested give me a call.

Both fish around the 600lb mark. the tuna are still everywhere with the commercials catching around 4000kg each a day.
Still loads of bait and whales and skipjack.....

The last few days have been great. On saturday we saw whales feeding on giant bait balls, we saw yellow fin and the albacore are back. we didn't target any of these species but we did target blue marlin. We caught our first fish early on about 45 minutes after lines out and it was around 400lb. we then caught another 2 which were both around 500+. Later we got another 2 bites but we didn't make the switch and saw 3 more feeding. sunday we caught 3 out of 5 one fish was 700+ the 2 we didn't get spat the bait out, they don't like mullet !! Yesterday we didn't raise a fish but saw one feeding. Today we raised 4 fish got 2 bites but they didn't stick. one of the fish was big.....Again lots of bait balls and whales. we also saw big yellow fin around 150kg and also some smaller ones. back out tomorrow.....The last two days we have seen 18 blue marlin, raised 11 and caught 4. This week we only fished 3 days. The first day we caught 2 blue marlin around 600lb each and one white marlin around 75lb. The next day we had a double header of blues one fish of around 500 which we pulled off jsut before touching leader and the other fish was around 600 which we caught. Later on we had another blue marlin of about 500lb. The third day we decided to do some jigging to make a change as the weather was calm. We caught some nice dentex of around 6-10kg and lost and amberjack. The commecial tuna boats have called me and said they have seen blue marlin everyday around the skipjack they are catching. They are not seeing many tuna as a group of killer whales came through and upset the fish ! So we are back out on Monday to see whats happening.....

Week 39, Sept. 22-28:
This week we had James warner fishing with us and as usual he brought plenty of luck with him. we started fishing for marlin and we didn't see anything so we tried a shot at jigging, James catching some nice snappers and out fishing our crew!! Then we went back to the blues and raised a nice fish. James pitched his bait perfectly which the big blue piled on. after a 20 min fight and some great jumps we released a fish we estimated at around 700 lb. Not bad for his first day. The next day we decided to target Amberjacks but had no luck but we did get a small Mako which we released. On the way home we had a knockdown on a marlin lure but no one saw anything. The next day we concentrated on Marlin and raised a fish of around 600 lb but didn't make the switch to the bait. In the afternoon a comercail fisherman called me and said he had seen alot of big yellowfin busting so we decided to put Barts RPP out on the long rigger with some hooks in it. At about mid day we raised a blue of about 500 which again didn't switch to the bait. later on we had a fish crash the long right and scream off. We soon worked out it was a nice marlin. we got fairly close to her at one point but she was tail wrapped and then headed deep and died on us. we managed to get her up after 2 hours and boated her. we estimated her around 650. We couldn't weigh her that night so waited until first thing in the morning. she had a big bill and when we saw her again looked bigger! She weighed 800lb. The fish we released the other day was definately bigger.....

OCTOBER:
Apologies for the delay on reports but we have had technical problems with the PC. This month we have been catching yellowfin of around 70kg and albacore of around 25kg. We have also had blue marlin. Unfortunatly alot of commercial tuna boats moved in and made fishing hard for us as we have to keep at least half a mile from them by law. But we still had good fishing of which the highlight was catching Freddie, another one of our junior anglers (12yrs) his first atlantic blue marlin. He done a great job and after half an hour released a nice blue of 500lb. Oliver, his friend of the same age wasn't as lucky and lost his marlin short into the fight after some mad jumps. (next year oliver !!!). Well thats it from La Gomera for this season, we'll be back again fishing in April. In the meantime Jason will be fishing in the indian ocean for 5 months and you can follow the action here !
Both our world records for atlantic blue marlin have been confirmed. Congatulations to:
Gary Carter with his new world record blue marlin of 357 lb on 6 lb line and to,
10 yr old William Hawkeswood on his new smallfry world record blue marlin of 496 lb
Well done to you both !

May 29th 2009:
This last week we have seen no tuna and the water has turned green, so we have had to move further off shore. The first day we had a bite from a small fish around 300lb which hit 3 lures then faded away. The next day we caught a fish of around 500lb, the day after we saw 2 blue marlin feeding but they swam straight past the lures, not interested. Yesterday we saw a fish swim straight past the boat, again not interested and today we caught a nice fish of around 600lb on Bart`s superplunger.
The green water is now only close in shore so hopefully things will improve.

Fishing has been mad in july. Still seeing loads of fish here. the fish were small around July the 4th but bigger fish have now moved in.
On july the 4th we raised 13 fish got 12 bites and pitched the bait to 3 fish just for fun to break the day up. none of the fish went over 450 ! Got some good video footage though. weird raisng all the fish and just watching them crash the teasers until they got bored ! 1 fish just wouldn't leave and we had to remove all the teasers and move on. then get them back in the water......
catching roughly 2-3 fish a day now. best yet 850+ Some big tuna being caught now as well....
2nd August 2009:
Fishing was great in July and we raised a total of 63 fish. We haven't seen the tuna for a while. The first two days of august have been a little bit slower for us, we caught 1 yesterday and 1 today. Lots of dorado and skipjack around. We also saw a swordfish on the suface. Still a blue marlin a day keeps the doctor away !
3rd-10th August 2009:

23rd. Today was a bit mad, we saw 8, raised 7 managed to get 4 bites. 2 jumped us off real quick and then we managed to get one to stick but we pulled the hooks 20m from touching the leader. A real shame as our angler is only 10 yrs old……..
24th-26th August 2009:

7th-10th September 2009:
After a week off we headed back out again. The first day we saw some bait but nothing else. The next day things started to pick up. A nice fish around 500lb came in on the Krakatoa and we teased her in and Joe pitched the bait, the fish ate but then dropped it and we couldn't tease her in again. The following day we headed out a bit deeper to look for some tuna and we got a nice fish of about 70 kg but pulled the hooks on the leader !!
Very unlucky. We then raised a blue which crashed a teaser and faded. Not long after we raised a double header of spearfish bothe ate the pitch baits 1 jumped us off and the other didn't swallow the bait and dropped it.
Our luck changed when we raised another blue and pitched the stella to it and Joey got the fish on and we let a 450lb fish go about 5 mins later after a fast and furiuos fight !!!
The next day we raised another fish on the Krakatoa and Ray pitched the bait perfectly and we got a nice 500lber on !
12th-13th September 2009:
Mikes first day out with us this september and we got straight onto a 600lb fish which he baited perfectly on 50lb tackle and we released it 15 minutes later !
We saw some more tuna but didn't get a bite. Lots of whales and skipjack everywhere. The next day Mike wanted to have a go at the 12lb record. We managed to get a fish on and Mike done a great job and we got the fish to the boat but was just short of the weight needed, so we let her go. Still a good fish of 500+. Later on we saw loads of tuna busting but didn't get a bite. They are coming up quite regular now. we trolled around some skipjack and raised a fish of around 550lb which Mike pitched the 50lb perfectly and we got her on ! Let her go about 15 mins later. while we were fighting the fish we saw another free feeding. Birds are everywhere now with whales dolphins and tuna. we saw another blue feeding right by the boat but she didn't come into the spread. Things are really starting to look HOT !!
14th-17th September 2009:
Today we had a fish up first thing at 10:30 but didn't switch to the bait. About mid day we had a knockdown but nobody saw anything. Later on we raised a fish around 550 whcih took the bait but dropped it in themean time a second fish come into the spread and Mike pitched the 30lb out fit and 3 hrs later we released a fish of 750lb, great work by all the team and not too far away from the record...
On the 15th we raised a good 600lber and pitched a dorado to her, she took it but we pulled the hooks.....
the 16th we caught a greta fish of around 350lb which gave a real good show !
Mike decided to fish one more day and we decided to work on our day off !!! we done some jigging and caught some nice snapper then went trolling for marlin. At 16:30 we caught a fish of around 350lb which had no bill and put up a good fight and we released her after 15mins and got straight onto another fish this one was around 650lb and we let her go after 10mins.
